Day 30 | Naustholmen - Moskenes | 43 KM ridden (total 143 KM) | 493 HM

I didn't sleep that well. All the eating and then looking after the travel blog junkies until late at night. The tent was wonderfully dry in the morning thanks to a light breeze. Unfortunately no sun. Today we only had a short stage to Bodø on the plan. That's why we were able to start and drive more or less comfortably.

On the way, you see lots of individual things that catch your eye. Here the Norwegians don't spend their gravel for roads etc.

The Malstrom near Saltraumen. And the high bridge over the Malstrom.

Shortly before, my chain got stuck. This ignorant racing cyclist comes and rolls past without saying hello. That's not right. I followed him and up the bridge I overtook him. He doesn't put up any resistance. Hm. Biggi was already waiting for me at the bottom. Then he rolled past again. We followed comfortably. Then I followed him for a while. The weather was boring. The landscape wasn't great - I needed some variety. Then we played a bit. Stubborn doesn't even look. Even when I hold the muzzle of the A7 parallel to his handlebars. Hm. A little enticement on the ascent? Not even. Every now and then he moves his left shoulder and hand on the lower handlebar. Either he is totally exhausted or has problems or has a strict trainer with very narrow guidelines... or he wants to ignore me or is blind and rides by ear... It's stupid when nobody wants to play with me. Then I let him pull away on purpose once, only to rush past twice as fast. Nothing.

An older gentleman in jeans and jacket is dining on the Rulleski. Very cool.

Another coffee before Bodø. This Mineral Café looks tempting. As soon as we get out, we are attacked by a pair of seagulls. A very old man has been running the café since 1990. He serves delicious chocolate cake and coffee for 168 NOK. A ridiculous price.

We were surprised by the limits on the amount of alcohol you can drink. I have never seen anything like it. This is also the Norwegian lesson.

There is a usable cycle path into Bodø again.

Mauro soon reappears at the pier.

The ferry is packed. It takes 4 hours to get to Lofoten. For cyclists it is free. We sat together with Mauro plus David from Munich, also on the bike. So it was quite entertaining. We talked at length about previous journeys and experiences, as well as other desired routes. Apart from that, there was a lot of people watching. watching.

Then the Lofoten Islands came closer and closer. We took a few more photos and then went ashore.

It was only 600 m to the camping site. There I helped Mauro to soften the eight from his rear wheel a bit. In the process, I noticed that the disc brake was dragging. I straightened it a bit and readjusted it. He was happy and went shopping.

I also went to Å a little later. The place with the shortest name. And also right at the front of the alphabet. I couldn't forget a new gas cartridge. Back again, it quickly became clear that I had got the wrong one. Before I went there again, there was a commotion at the campsite. Whales had appeared below the campsite. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, they had disappeared. So we had to race a few kilometres to Å. Exchanging the cartridge was no problem, despite the fact that we had opened the cap. Back, shower, relieve Biggi with the cooking, salmon with rice and sauce plus salad, eat, drink beer with it, wash up, eat dessert and a sip of whisky with it, get ready for bed, put the leftovers away and into the tent. The sun sets here at 00:03 hrs summer time.
